How to convert hours and minutes
Multiply the whole hours by 60, then add the remaining minutes.
Total minutes = (hours × 60) + minutes
To convert the same value into decimal hours, divide total minutes by 60.
Decimal hours = total minutes ÷ 60
Example
8 hours 30 minutes equals 510 total minutes and 8.50 decimal hours.
